Bollywood actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar on Thursday filed an FIR with Maharashtra Cyber, the state police’s cyber wing.. In which she said that her Instagram account was hacked. "My Instagram account has been hacked @instagram. First they DM you n ask to follow a few steps n verify the account n then it gets hacked... really...!!??? #notdone," the Shiv Sena leader took to Twitter to inform her followers.

In another tweet, she informed that after a meeting, DCP Rashmi Karandikar of the Cyber Crime cell has discussed with her on the issue of cybercrime and also posted a photo of her adding, "Cyber crime is not something that women should take lightly (sic)."

Meanwhile, Matondkar's Instagram posts are now deleted. “This is an automated message sent to you. If you have infringed copyright, you will receive an automated message,” the message read on her profile.
On December 1, Matondkar joined the Shiv Sena, has been formally inducted by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The 46-year-old actress had resigned from the Congress party last year stating that she was unhappy with “petty in-house politics”. She had contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North on a Congress ticket but lost to BJP’s Gopal Shetty. After spending five months in the party, Matondkar cited “lack of leadership” and “in-fighting” as the reasons to quit.
After joining Shiv Sena, Matondkar took to Twitter and shared a video in which she thanked Thackeray and supporters for welcoming her to the party.

The Rangeela actress Matondkar had earlier grabbed the headlines when Kangana Ranaut called her a “soft porn star”. She had expressed concern over Ranaut’s Mumbai-PoK remark and said that she is “not only insulting the city, but people of the state at large.”
