Huge protests have broken out in a village of Rajasthan's Bhilwara after a group of male students allegedly placed urine inside a water bottle of their female classmate.
What Unfolded?
According to reports, on July 28, last week, a 13-year-old girl enrolled at the Government Senior Higher Secondary School in Luhariya village reported that during her lunch break, she found that urine had been mixed into the water bottle that was kept in her bag.
A senior police officer said, "After taking a sip from the bottle, the victim noticed the unpleasant smell, prompting her to file a complaint. To her astonishment, she also stumbled upon a note inside her bag, bearing the words 'Love you'."
Locals' Agitation And School's Unresponsiveness
Even though the girl lodged the complaint with the principal, his lack of response stirred frustration in the community. When the school resumed on Monday, concerned individuals addressed the matter with the Tehsildar, the officer in charge of Luhariya Police Station, and the school principal. However, due to the absence of substantial action, people proceeded to the neighbourhood where the accused resided and engaged in pelting stones.
ASP Ghanashyam Sharma further commented, "The student has not officially reported the incident to the police. Nevertheless, if a complaint is registered against those who entered the accused person's neighbourhood and resorted to stone-pelting, the police will respond accordingly." Currently, Additional Superintendent of Police Ghanashyam Sharma is stationed in Luhariya village with a significant police presence.
Authorities And Politics
According to Mandal SHO Mukesh Verma, the accused boys have had a case filed against them. Stone-throwing incidents transpired in the village, but the situation has since been brought under control.
Leader of the Opposition Rajendra Rathore denounced the occurrence, citing it as a testament to the appeasement politics pursued by the Congress government.
