Suspicious Of Husband's Infidelity, UP Woman Pushes Him Off Terrace

In suspicion of extra-marital affairs, a woman took extreme steps to take revenge on her husband leading him to sustain some serious injuries. The woman threw boiling water on her husband, while her parents and siblings allegedly thrashed the man, and they all pushed him off the terrace. 

The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria, just 50 km from Gorakhpur during the wee hours of April 13, where the woman decoyed her husband requesting him to stay at his in-laws (her parents') home for the night as they conspired the alleged attack.

The man identified as Ashish Kumar Rai, has claimed that he was visiting his in-laws' house when the attack happened. According to Rai, his wife, Amrita Rai, threw boiling water on him while he was asleep. He further alleged that after he woke up in pain, he was beaten by Amrita's family members before being pushed off the roof. 

Kumar alleged that his wife requested him to tag along with her while visiting her maternal home to meet her ailing brother. As Kumar agreed, when it was time for them to leave, Kumar's keys and phone were allegedly confiscated by his in-laws as his wife requested him to stay the night. 

Accepting the assertion, Kumar stayed the night and as they went to sleep, his wife told him around 3 am that she was going to use the washroom. He alleged that his sister-in-law already kept the water boiling on the stove before as his wife took the water and threw it on him while he was sleeping post 3 am.

Kumar then tried to flee the house in an attempt to escape his wife's attack when he was trapped by his brother-in-law and father-in-law who allegedly thrashed him and pushed him off their terrace.

Following the incident, Kumar was rushed to a nearby hospital where he received primary treatments before being shifted to the city's Maharshi Devraha Baba Medical College for further treatment.

The local police officers have registered an FIR against Amrita Rai and three other people under different sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) while further investigations are underway to determine the exact sequence of events and the involvement of any other individuals. The police suspect the reason behind the family's extreme actions could be the man's infidelity.

This tragic incident highlights the devastating consequences that can arise from domestic disputes.
