A woman from Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district was arrested on November 14, for cutting a man's genitals as she alleged he raped her. Police said that she arrived at the police station with the severed parts to lodge a complaint against the man whose genitals she cut using a knife.
The woman told the police that the man worked as a house helper at her house. Since her husband works in Saudi Arabia, the man took advantage of her being alone and tried to rape her. She said that she managed to escape under the pretence of closing the kitchen and returned with a knife, which she used to cut off his genitals as he tried to sexually assault her.
After she went to the police, they arrived at her residence and discovered a blood-soaked bedsheet and seized the knife involved in the incident. However, the man alleged a different scenario altogether. He said that the woman called him over, rendered him unconscious, and then mutilated his genitals.
The man told the police that he had been working at her house since childhood. Manjhanpur Deputy Superintendent of Police, Abhishek Singh said that the police were informed of a dispute which resulted in the woman cutting off the man's genitals. He said the police promptly responded, sending the injured man to the district hospital and later referring him to Prayagraj.
The police have registered a case against the woman based on a complaint from the man's father. She has been detained under Sections 326 (Voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 308 (Attempt to commit culpable homicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

In September this year, a woman from Kanpur chopped off her boyfriend's genitals after he declined to engage in sexual acts with her friend. Police said that the woman invited him to meet one of her acquaintances, who forced herself on him. When the man declined, his girlfriend resorted to mutilating his genitals.
The young man, bleeding profusely, managed to return home, and his family members promptly took him to the Chaubeypur CHC for initial treatment. The police official stated that the process of registering a case was underway, and appropriate action would be taken in accordance with the law.
