The UP Police arrested women who wanted to share their insights on the COVID-19 condition with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on his visit to their village near Kanpur.
The women reportedly wanted to disclose the fact that the death toll shown on papers is much lower than the reality. But these women were detained in the police station till late evening by the police and not allowed to meet the CM.
On his visits examining the situation of the Second wave of COVID-19 in the state, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath was about to visit a village in Kanpur. The village women alleged that the village officials had allegedly forged false reports of vaccinations and deaths due to COVID-19 and they were going to present the same to the CM.
The Kanpur Police restricted these women. They were reportedly dragged into the police vans from the centre. A local news report of the arrest has gone viral on the internet. Other men and women who tried stopping the police from arresting these women were also arrested.
The UP CM Yogi Adityanath was then only shown the vaccination centre. The woman was seen on tape giving her statement in which she says that they heard that the CM was going to help the families of the deceased and hence the women had prepared a list of the deceased patients who died due to COVID-19. The woman further added that she had all pieces of evidence and she supports the UP CM despite that, the women were not allowed to meet their own Chief Minister.
The women also stated that they did not want to protest against the CM. In fact, they support the UP CM and wanted to bring light to the real facts and figures along with the evidence. But they were restricted to do so by the Kanpur Police.
