Unwilling to sacrifice her academic pursuits for marriage, a class 12 girl in Ludhiana's Gill Village reportedly ended her life. The young girl was found hanging in one of the classrooms on Tuesday morning as per reports.

The girl reportedly wanted to pursue higher education, however, her parents wanted to marry her off which led her to take the drastic step. A suicide note was recovered by police from the spot of the incident in which the girl mentioned that her parents wanted her to marry after Class 12 but she wanted a career. The young girl did not blame anyone for her extreme step, cops informed.
Police investigation revealed that the girl was good on the academic front and desired to build a good career for herself. On Monday, the girl attended the government school but did not return home. Her family filed a missing complaint with the police but she could not be traced. However, she was found hanging from the ceiling fan of the classrooms with her dupatta by students on Tuesday morning, said case investigating officer ASI Harnek Singh.
