Union Minister Smriti Irani has tested negative for COVID-19. Irani shared the news on social media on the morning of November 12, thanking wellwishers for their prayers. The minister of Women and Child Development had tested positive for COVID-19 on October 28.

The 44-year-old politician had shared the news of testing positive for COVID-19 on Twitter. "It is rare for me to search for words while making an announcement; hence here’s me keeping it simple – I’ve tested positive for #COVID," she wrote in her tweet, further requesting those who came in contact with her to get themselves tested at the earliest.

While replying to those who had wished her good health after testing negative, Irani also revealed that she had been working online "through COVID".

The number of active cases of coronavirus fell below five lakh in India on Tuesday, November 11, reports Times of India. According to Indian Medical Council Research (ICMR) a total of 12,19,62,509 samples have been tested for COVID-19, as of November 11.
