A couple who first "met" in the neonatal unit as premature newborns have spoken about how they subsequently fell in love and are now parents to a child born in the same hospital. Jack Richardson and Bronwyn Tacey were both premature babies born at Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre. During their stay in the NICU, their families became close friends and remained so for many years. Even though Jack and Bronwyn had grown apart in their teens and early twenties, they realised at the age of 27 that they were soulmates after reconnecting on Facebook.

Jack and Bronwyn were born prematurely at the same hospital. During the many weeks their families spent waiting in the newborn hospital in 1994, they established a bond. He was born at thirty weeks, while she was delivered barely at twenty-six weeks.

The two children grew up close and kept in touch with each other's families over the years after their eventual return from Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, England.  For years, their parents maintained a strong relationship by raising their children together and remembering each other's birthdays. 27 years after their birth, they decided to tie the knot, and they currently have a small daughter who was born in the same hospital.

Reflecting on their “strange” meet-cute, Tacey said she “[doesn’t] know anyone else or any other relationships that are like this.”

Tacey's mother added: "It was just amazing. The first person he met is the person he's got a baby with." In June 2023, Bronwyn discovered she was pregnant with Sienna. She gave birth on February 23, 2024, at the same hospital where she and Jack were born. Bronwyn says it's "strange" to tell others how they met.

As a family of three, the couple says they couldn't be happier living in Nuttall, on the outskirts of Nottingham. Reflecting on their relationship, Bronwyn said, "It's a great partnership, In addition to being partners, we're like best friends. The best of both worlds is present. "We just understand one another and complete one another's words. We are aware of one another's thoughts before we speak."
