Two Girls Kill Mother: Two mentally challenged girls have been nabbed by the police for allegedly killing their mother.
A 42-year-old K. Usha, a former employee of Tamil Nadu Open University, was residing in a house at Moogambikai Nagar with her two mentally challenged daughters, a 21-year-old Neena and a 19-year-old Reena, both are reportedly graduates. As the victim's daughters engaged in a brawl, following complaints from her neighbours, Usha moved to a house in Housing Board Colony on Palayamkottai outskirts in KTC Nagar last April, as per reports.
On Tuesday the neighbours of the 42-year-old reportedly heard an altercation between the girls and their mother along with Usha's shriek, they tried to open the main lock of the house, which was locked from inside. The neighbours called the police as their attempt failed and narrated the entire incident to the officials.
Post which the police officials, led by Inspector Balakrishnan, unbolted the main lock forcibly, after which the officials found Usha's dead body covered in blood along with grievous stab injuries. The officials were reportedly shocked to see that Neena and Reena, the victim's daughters were discussing something sitting beside their mother's dead body.
The officials picked up the girls for interrogation and sent Usha's body for post-mortem to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. The neighbours informed the police that Usha’s daughters were being violent for the past two days that might have led to Usha's murder.
The Palayamkottai Taluk police have registered a case.
