Social media giant Twitter has picked Rinki Sethi as its Chief Information Security Officer. She is a former information security executive from IBM. Nick Tonrow, Twitter’s Platform Lead, shared the news via a tweet. Previously, Sethi has also worked at notable organisations like Rubrik and Palo Alto Networks.

The tweet mentioned that Sethi will lead Twitter’s InfoSec team and help the company to protect its customers’ data and privacy. Rinki Sethi – Twitter’s New Information Security Head
San Francisco- based Rinki Sethi has contributed immensely to the field of technical security. As per her LinkedIn profile, she developed innovative online security systems for Fortune 500 companies like IBM, PG&E, Walmart.com, and eBay. In 2010, CSO Magazine & Executive Women’s Forum honoured her with the One to Watch Award. SC Magazine also awarded the Information Security Team of the Year Award to an eBay team led by Sethi in the same year.
Furthermore, Rinki Sethi has served on the advisory council for SecureWorld, one of North America's most reputable cybersecurity conferences. Sethi pursued her education at esteemed international universities like Capella University, Stanford University, and the University of California, Davis.

Twitter’s Search For Security Chief Comes To An End
Twitter had been functioning without a security chief since December 2019. Earlier this year, Reuters reported that the company had ramped up its search for a new information security head in the weeks prior to the controversial breach of high-profile accounts on the online platform in July.
Reportedly, the company admitted that hackers had accessed its internal systems to hijack the accounts of some of the platform's most significant voices, including those of US presidential candidate Joe Biden and reality TV star Kim Kardashian . Additionally, the hackers used the accounts to solicit digital currency.
