TVF CEO Arunabh Kumar Gets Interim Protection From Arrest

After making headlines for being untraceable for weeks, TVF (The Viral Fever) CEO and founder Arunabh Kumar has now been granted interim protection from arrest till April 17 by a Mumbai sessions court. He was booked for molestation after two women came forth and filed a complaint against him.

Following the complaint of a victim at the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) police station on March 29 and another at Versova police station on March 30, Kumar reportedly filed an anticipatory bail plea at the Dindoshi sessions court last Friday, April 7, standing by his earlier claim of being innocent, TOI reported.

The investigating inspector Padmakar Devre from the MIDC has affirmed Kumar's claim, saying the complainant is not his employee.

Highlights of the case so far:

• Till now, two women have registered sexual harassment case against the TVF CEO
• After the FIRs were registered, Mumbai police could not trace the accused
• Later, Kumar was summoned by the MIDC police to further the investigation

The TVF group had formed a committee on March 14 to find out about the truth behind the allegations of sexual harassment against Kumar. The firm's Human Resource Department and Administration teams were looking into the matter closely.

In its official statement, TVF said, "We will leave no stone unturned to find the author of the article and bring them to serve justice for making such false allegations."

Interestingly, what started with one anonymous woman blogger called The Indian Fowler on blogging site medium.com last month, accusing him of molestation, has now gone up to around 50 women who had taken to social media with similar complaints against Kumar. However, only two complainants had showed up to the cops till date.
