Preksha Mehta, an actress who is known for her role in Crime Patrol allegedly committed suicide on Monday, May 25. The 25-year-old actor was found hanging at her residence in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. As per the report, she hanged herself the previous night, but was found the next morning. Preksha’s father was the first one to see her. She was later rushed to the hospital but was declared brought dead.
She has been a part of many shows like Crime Patrol, Laal Ishq, and Meri Durga. Preksha was also seen on the big screen in Akshay Kumar starrer Pad Man.

Last Instagram Post
Preksha had posted an unsettling message on her Instagram account before committing suicide. On her Instagram story, she wrote, “Sabse bura hota hai sapno ka mar jaana”. The worst is when your dreams die. Moreover, the actress's last post on Instagram was a selfie which was captioned with the lyrics of the song ‘Agar Tum Saath Ho’. After the news of her suicide came out, her last post was full of comments from fans saying ‘RIP’ and paid their respects.

The SHO of Hiranagar Police station, Rajiv Bhadoria said, "She worked in television serials in Mumbai and was staying with her family amid lockdown. We have found a suicide note. We are investigating the matter," Business Standard reported.
The uncertainty post lockdown
The actress had moved to Mumbai two years ago, to pursue her dream of acting. Since the lockdown, the sets have been closed and there is a lot of uncertainty. Just a day before Preksha’s suicide TV actor Manmeet Grewal also reportedly took his life due to the financial issues.
All television and film shoots have been suspended from March 19 following the social distancing guidelines and subsequently the lockdown. Like several other industries the lockdown has hit the television actors and the technician very hard. With the lockdown now extending over two months, there is no steady income for them with the studios closed.
Even Bollywood films are also releasing on OTT platforms. Irrfan Khan starrer Angrezi Medium led the way now Gulabo Sitabo is scheduled to release on a streaming platform mid-June.
