Netizens Pay Tribute To Late JJ Irani, Former Managing Director Of Tata Steel

Former Manager Director of Tata Steel Jamshed Jiji Irani passed away on October 31 at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife Daisy Irani and three children, Tanaaz, Zubin, and Niloufer.

People have been paying tribute to the late Steel Man of India on social media after they learned of his passing. Tata Steel said in a statement that the Tata Steel veteran passed away at Jamshedpur. JJ Irani was associated with Tata Steel for 43 years and retired from the board in June 2011.

Irani leaves behind a legacy of being a leader who contributed to the growth of the steel industry in India.

Netizens Pay Tribute To JJ Irani

After news broke that the former Managing Director of Tata Steel passed away, netizens took to social media to pay tribute to the industrialist icon.

One Twitter user wrote that JJ Irani’s achievements were remarkable and mentioned how Irani established new steelmaking plants for low-cost high-quality steel. The user wrote, “Having worked in one such plant was my absolute privilege and it helped immensely in shaping my professional values”.

Journalist at CNBC Harshaha Sawant paid tribute to Irani and gave her “deepest condolences”. She also described the leader as somebody who enabled the company to reinvent itself and focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

Another Twitter user wrote, “RIP Dr JJ Irani… a family man, a corporate leader and a most human person”.

Politician Jyotiradha Madhavrao Scindia who currently serves as the Minister of Civil Aviation and heads the Ministry of Steel condoled Irani’s death. He wrote that he was “deeply saddened” by the demise and said Irani’s service saw the “Indian steel industry transcend global heights”.

Scindia signed off by writing, “A leader, a revolutionary thinker, a doyen of the steel industry, his legacy will live on”.
