Jharkhand: Tribal Singer Beaten To Death For Allegedly Molesting Girl

A 35-year-old tribal singer was beaten to death for allegedly molesting a mentally retarded girl. The incident happened in Tatkundo village, 30 km away from Ranchi, Jharkhand. The news was confirmed by a police officer. Three people have been arrested in connection with the case, the officer said. 

The tribal singer, whose name was David Minz, used to sing in the Nagpuri language. He had sung several songs that were hit on the social media platforms. 

However, on Thursday, December 14, 2023, he was beaten to death by sticks. Mandar police station in-charge Vinay Kumar Yadav said that the villagers accused him of molesting a mentally retarded girl living in the same village. 

Minz died in the hospital

Minz was immediately taken to Mandar referral hospital. After primary treatment, the doctors referred him to the Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) in Ranchi where he breathed his last. 

Three people, who were relatives of the girl, have been arrested for being involved in the crime. Cop Yadav said that the three people were taken into custody on Friday, December 15, 2023, on the complaint of Minz's wife.

A similar case of vandalism was reported earlier

 Five days ago, another man was beaten to death by a mob for molesting a 12-year-old girl. The man, Machindra alias Anna Vaidya, was recently acquired by the court of four murder charges. However, he molested a 12-year-old girl in his village- Sugaon Khurd village, Ahmednagar district. The angry mob beat him to death through vandalism. 

According to the Police, Vaidya tried to molest a 12-year-old girl. Even though the girl managed to escape and ran inside a house, Vaidya forced himself inside, beat her up and molested her. While the Police were busy shifting the girl to the hospital, the mob attacked Vaidya. 

Vaidya was then taken to a rural hospital, And from there he was referred to Sangamner Hospital. While he was being taken there, he died on the way.
