One of the hard-hit industries of the world was the film industry. With cinema halls shutdown, OTT platforms were the only medium for movies to get to the audience. Thanks to these OTT platforms, we were kept entertained not just by movies but also by several series and shows. Hence, we were introduced to several new talents who were hidden behind the tapestry of mainstream actors.
So let us look at some of the talented woman actors who finally got our attention in 2020.
Victoria Pedretti
Victoria Pedretti scared all of us with her nerve-racking and thrilling performance in the show The Haunting of Hill House in 2018. Later she played Love Quinn in the second season of the Netflix thriller series You, which was released on December 26, 2019. But her character Dani in the sequel of The Haunting of Hill House proved how talented and powerful an actor she is. Pedretti in The Haunting Of Bly Manor led the entire series as the lead character. The prequel was released on October 9 this year and Pedretti as 'Dani' immediately turned heads.
Though her acting career began in 2014, it is after the horror series she started getting noticed and the Bly Manor performance made her a lot of fans.
Lily Collins
The Netflix show Emily in Paris not only showed us the beautiful Paris city but also how brilliant Lily Collins is. Collins plays the protagonist Emily in this fun, romantic show. Definitely, this was a career milestone character for her. She made her on-screen debut at the age of two in a BBC series back in 1992. Later, after some early television appearances, she had starred in the massive box office hit of 2009, The Blind Side. Though her movie Love, Rosie 2014 was critically acclaimed, it was not until Emily in Paris that people all over the world fell for her chirpy performance and her beautiful smile.

Swara Bhaskar
We have seen Swara Bhaskar in several hit Bollywood movies like Rhanjana and Veere Di Wedding. But as a friend of the mainstream heroine. However, her latest Netflix series Bhaag Beanie Bhaag proved that Bhaskar is a very powerful actress. Her character as an empowered and independent woman Beanie is a true inspiration to many modern-day women. Indeed, Swara Bhaskar made Beanie the most relatable person. Through the show, Bhaskar has made clear that she cannot be shoved aside as a side-kick anymore.
Rasika Duggal
Rasika Dugal is yet another actress who has played several supportive roles in Bollywood movies for quite some time now. She even starred in the Indian-German drama film called Qissa in 2013. But the year 2020 turned to be really successful for Dugal. Though she did not do any lead roles, her supportive characters in some of the years hit shows made us notice her talent. Whether it be her victimised role of Beena in Mirzapur or the strong sister in A Suitable Boy, Dugal has delivered every role with poise and passion.
Isha Talwar
Isha Talwar had to wait 8 years after her debut to get a role to prove her talent as an actor. She debuted in the Malayalam movie Thattathin Marayathu as the main female lead. But Talwar did not find any prominent opportunities to shine as an actor later until Mirzapur 2. When the show was released her role as Madhuri Yadav ruled over the internet. In fact, it was not just the way the character has been developed, but the way Talwar played Madhuri made her an instant favourite with the audience.
Anna Ben
Anna Ben is a popular name in the Mollywood industry ever since her debut in 2019. But her performance in the movie C U Soon got nation-wide attention and applause. Ben is known for playing some powerful characters even back in the South. She is definitely one of the versatile and promising actors from 2020.
