Gates tweeted saying, "made me feel better about 2017 and more optimistic about the new year."
In rural India, most women still do not have toilets and open defecation is the norm. It is only recently, that the country is waking up to the importance of health and sanitation. The movie sends out the same message. The Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar starrer, opens with a love-turn-arrange marriage between Keshav and Jaya. However, when she came to her in-law's house after marriage, she complains that there is no toilet in the house. further, this leads to a huge discord between the family and the society. Even though, her husband tries every possible way to pacify her with temporary arrangements, she leaves the house for not having proper toilet facility and goes back to her parents' house. The movie showcases their struggle to fight orthodox norms and finishes with a peaceful ending with them building a toilet in the house.
