More than a year after the pink autorickshaw plan was first proposed, starting from Monday, the RTO in Ghaziabad has permitted 25 pink women-only autos in Noida. As per the Hindustan Times the transport department of Noida has thus far received a total 26 applications from drivers who have expressed an interest in carrying exclusively women passengers.
Colour-coded to ferry, these pink autos will be waiting for you at different Metro stations and bus stands. Rachna Yaduvanshi, ARTO (administration), Noida said that the transport department received applications from 52 drivers. "We moved these applications to the RTO Ghaziabad for final permit. Of the total applicants, 25 have been given permits. They will start plying on Noida roads from Monday," she said.

Along with the first slot applicants permit, some of the exciting features are added in autos too to ensure women safety better. A report in TOI notes the following features:
- Installed GPS and electronic meter
- Extra protective grille
- An inscription of women helpline number 1090 and police control room number 100 inside and outside the autos in case of an emergency
- On-street auto with the name, address and contact number of the driver
