Usha Thakur: Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Culture minister, Usha Thakur is back with another stunt as she was recently seen performing a prayer meet before the statue of Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar at the Indore airport.
The minister, who claimed to have been doing the puja rituals to ward off the COVID-19 threat, was seen without a face mask in public.
Thakur offered prayers amid the surge in coronavirus cases in the country. The MLA from Indore was seen clapping and singing before the deity. She was also joined by Airport Director Aryama Sanyas and other staff members at the ceremony.

Earlier when asked why she is often seen without a mask, Thakur had told NDTV that she doesn't need to wear a mask as she performs 'havan' (ritual burning) every day and recites the Hanuman Chalisa.
The Madhya Pradesh politician made headlines last month for backing Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat over his controversial remarks on women who wear "ripped jeans", saying it was a "bad omen" according to Indian culture and values to wear torn clothes.
Rawat had said that if women are seen wearing ripped jeans it paves the way for societal breakdown and is a result of the “bad example” parents set for children. Supporting his remarks, Thakur said, "Wearing 'ripped jeans or clothes' is against Indian culture,"
"You must have seen that if our grandmother used to see any torn clothes, she would tell us to reject it (or not wear it anymore). In Indian culture, torn clothes are considered bad omen. Hence, the well-cultured families that we have here and those who live the traditional lifestyle, do not like these kind of clothes," she added.
With 4,882 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, Madhya Pradesh presently has 3,27,220 active cases. Over 4,000 people have died due to the virus in the state.
