Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Sonali Guha has decided to become a part of the BJP. The MLA from Satgachia South 24 Paragnas was one of the TMC members who's name wasn't there in the party's candidate list this time.
“I was always there with Mamata Banerjee. And this is what I get? My name was dropped because I am diabetic. She could have told me at least. May good sense prevail in her,” said Sonali Guha, the former deputy speaker of the state assembly.

The TMC had released its list of 291 candidates who would contest in the West Bengal assembly elections. However, several known names were scrapped from the final list. This included veteran MLAs such as Jatu Lahiri, Rabindranath Bhattacharya, Rafikur Rahaman, etc. Many TMC supporters started protesting against the removal of these MLAs in various parts of the state.
If Mamata didi can leave me so why can't I? I called Mukul Roy and said that I won't contest elections but need a respectable post. He agreed. I will definitely join BJP: TMC MLA Sonali Guha
