TikTok Star And Crane Operator Elvira Demidova Dies In Freak Crane Accident

TikTok star Elvira Demidova dies in a tragic accident as a crane toppled to the ground due to heavy wind. A video of the incident is going viral online.

On July 26, the 31-year-old Elvira Demidova was using a crane to load concrete in Tymen, an oil hub in Siberia, Russia. Reportedly, a gust of wind blew the structure over and caused the cabin to fall 40 feet to the ground. Demidova, the crane operator and mother of two was killed on impact.

The horrific video of the freak accident was uploaded by a Russian news site. In the video, the crane is seen being blown across the construction site due to the heavy wind before the crane topples over and plummets to the ground.

Elvira Demidova Dies In Crane Accident

Demidova was a crane operator and became famous on TikTok for sharing stories about her life and her job. She received more than 41,000 followers on TikTok for her candid stories.

Her husband, Oleg Demidov said, “She was the best woman in the world”. He described her as sociable, kind, sympathetic, and faithful.

A crowdfunding campaign has been set up to raise money for the late TikTok star and crane operator’s funeral and to take care of her two children, her son and daughter who are currently residing with their maternal grandmother.

Reportedly, authorities have launched a criminal investigation into the cause of her death. Russia's Investigative Committee initiated the case under article 216 of the Russian Criminal Code (violation of safety rules when carrying out construction or other work, resulting in death by negligence).

The late crane operator worked for a company named Mostostroy-11, the company had been awarded multiple state contracts. In 2020, the General Director of Mostostroy-11, Nikolay Russu was recognised by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin for the firm’s role in constructing the bridge that connected China and Russia.

TikTok Star Death

In another incident, TikTok star Eman Sami Maghdid was allegedly killed in an honour killing on March 6, 2020. The 20-year-old was reportedly killed by her younger brother who shot her multiple times in broad daylight.
