The team of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis have advanced into the quarter-finals of the women’s doubles event at the Rogers Cup in Toronto on Friday. The 6-1, 6-1 victory over the British American pair of Naomi Broady and Shelby Rogers seemed effortless as the World No 1 pair demolished them in in under 43 minutes.

Sania and Martina had crashed out of Wimbledon earlier losing to Timea Babos from Hungary and Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan in the quarter-finals. With this Toronto tournament as the last one to prep up for the upcoming Olympics, Sania would no doubt be looking at a good run here as a confidence booster.
Following this win, the Indo-Swiss pair now will face the American duo of Christina Mchale and Asia Muhammad in the next round.
