Bollywood actresses Anushka Sharma and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are part of Fortune India's Top 50 Most Powerful Women 2020. Acing the role of a producer with the last two hits Paatal Lok and Bulbbul, Sharma is at 36th position, a jump from last year's 39. Meanwhile, the Indian ambassador of the Toronto International Film Festival this year, Priyanka has managed to earn 37th rank in the 2020 list. Priyanka, who is also a successful entrepreneur, is a new addition to the ranking. The list features "powerful women in business who are making an impact by virtue of their business acumen and social and cultural influence".
According to Fortune India, Anushka has "carved a place for herself in the extremely competitive entertainment industry," while Priyanka has "shown herself to be an astute businesswoman."
Anushka also shared the news on her Instagram story. She expressed gratitude towards Fortune India for including her in their ranking.

Sharma founded Clean Slate Filmz, a production house, she jointly owns with her brother Karnesh Sharma, when she was 25. Fortune India wrote: "Sharma is not only the face of her clothing line Nush and several other brands such as Nivea, Elle 18, Myntra and Lavie, but also a producer." Under the banner, she produced films like Bulbbul, NH10, Phillauri and Pari. "They made around ₹ 40 crore each at the box office," it noted.
Whereas, the global sensation Chopra Jonas is the founder of Purple Pebble Pictures and investor in a woman-friendly dating app. Apart from these, she has also invested in US-based Holberton School, "a project-based alternative to college for coders and software engineers".
In April, the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, Chopra Jonas launched an initiative to help students adapt to virtual classrooms in Los Angeles during the lockdown phase. “Education and empowering youth is so important to me,” she said. She also teamed up with Shah Rukh Khan for One World: Together At Home, a live virtual event, curated by Lady Gaga. Organizers Global Citizen and World Health Organisation collected funds for the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sharma is currently expecting her first child with husband Virat Kohli. The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actress was last seen on the big screen in Aanand L Rai’s Zero. Chopra Jonas was highly applauded for her character, Aditi Chaudhary, in Shonali Bose’s The Sky is Pink last year.
