Model, actress Gauhar Khan finally broke silence after the infamous slapping incident on the sets of a reality TV show. Khan condemned the actions of the man adding that she doesn’t promote any particular dressing style but detests the actions of any man who claims to moral police others into following any specific  kind of lifestyle.

At the grand finale of a reality talent-hunt show, ‘Raw Star,’ one of the audience members, a 24 year old man, Mohammed Akil Mallick, slapped Khan for wearing a short dress. The accused reportedly said that being a Muslim, she should not be wearing short clothes. Stating that the laws in the country aren’t strict enough to instigate fear amongst people, such as the accused, Khan added that she wishes for all women to stand up against such acts.

Khan said that even though she was hurt, she knows that men like Mallick don’t represent the country’s youth as he was outnumbered by those who were outraged at the attack. She added, "This loser doesn't represent my beautiful faith which in itself means peace and submission. He apparently attacked me because I am an actress. He wanted to send out his warped message. I am using the same status to appeal to all women to stand against such acts."

The actress then thanked her supporters: "I thank my family, friends, fans, media, TV industry and film industry for all the love and support. I assure you all that I am hurt but not out. I am shocked but more determined. I felt injured but stronger than ever." This is not the first time a woman has been attacked by a man for ‘indecent behaviour’. In the recent years, many incidents have been reported where conservatives have violently abused for women for going ‘against the culture.’
