The Crown at Golden Globes: Much like its earlier season, the fourth season of The Crown ruled the television nominations at Golden Globes Awards this year.

The list of nominations for the year 2020 was announced on Wednesday and the female cast of The Crown web series made it big. While Olivia Coleman and Emma Corrin were nominated in the female category best actors, Gillian Anderson and Helena Bonham Carter won nominations in the supporting actress category.

Other than that, Josh O'Conner of The Crown was also nominated in the male best actors' category. The nominations are not new for Helena Bonham Carter and Olivia Coleman as the two won the awards in the same categories last year. Claire Foy who used to play the role of Queen Elizabeth in the same series in earlier seasons won the best actress in the drama category for two consecutive years.

The overall female representation in the Golden Globes nominations announced so far is promising. This year, for the first time ever, three female directors were nominated in the best director category. Regina King, Chloe Zhao and Emerald Fennell were nominated for their films released in 2020.

Emma Corin who made a debut in The Crown season four played the role of Princess Diana. Her resemblance to Princess Diana was much appreciated by the critics. On the other hand, Gillian Anderson essayed the role of Margaret Thatcher, the former Prime Minister of UK, and was praised for her acting.
