The survivor woman's nerve-wracking ordeal coming forward through court documents is frightening; however, the accused have been only charged with aggravated kidnapping and keeping the woman hostage but can face several other charges as well. Information about what happened to the woman's pregnancy is unclear. Here is a detailed overview of the horrifying case:

The Disturbing Encounter

On January 4, a 52-year-old man identified as Lee Carter was arrested for abducting a 30-year-old pregnant woman off the streets when she was pregnant and holding her captive, locking her inside the garage for five years.

The case with allegations of sexual assault and kidnapping has been charged against the harasser rapper.

A court document revealed that on April 7, 2023, the Houston Police Department, after receiving a call about hearing some kidnapping voices, deployed its officers to check the location where they heard a voice coming from a garage attached to Carter's house in Southeast Houston.

When the cops broke in through a window into the garage, they found the woman with a dog, a dirty mattress, and faeces on the floor. She was in a malnourished state, weighing just over 70 lbs. The approximately 30-year-old, 5 ft., 2 in. woman painted a grim picture of her captivity, emphasizing the physical and psychological toll of the alleged abuse.

On Thursday, Carter had been arrested by the cops living in a nearby motel for holding a pregnant woman captive, locking her up in his garage for five years, and picking her up from the streets.

Court Hearing

Reportedly, during a court hearing, it was also said that the accused would back his car up to the shop, load the woman up, and back up to the door at the front of the house so she could bathe.

It was also said that the accusations against the defendant (Carter) were so disturbing that the judge cleared the room before reading them out loud and imposing a bond of $100,000 on Haris County Jail.

Survivor's Ordeal

The woman shared that she met Carter, who is a popular rapper and goes by his stage name "Viper" five years ago while panhandling on the streets of Almeda. The woman was pregnant at the time, and Carter gave her a dollar initially and left, but later returned, asking the woman to get into the car if she wanted help.

The woman accused Carter of allegedly having forcible sex with her, keeping her locked up in his garage, and forcing her to take some pills along with crack cocaine and many other illegal narcotics that made her physically unable to leave the location.

The woman shared that she somehow managed to get hold of Carter's laptop, through which she called the cops herself through an app called 'Text Now' that prompted the police's actions.

The survivor also shared how she attempted an escape by breaking a window and a neighbour confirmed that she saw a woman crawling out of Carter's garage right when cops banged on her door enquiring about the calls they received call for kindapping in progress. The neighbour woman who gave the statement said that, by the looks of it, the survivor was eight months pregnant.

The survivor woman also recounted that she was taken to the hospital on multiple occasions, but Carter went on to pick her up and bring her back to his garage. The court's documents did not read about the woman's pregnancy or whether or not she gave birth to the child, so it remained unclear.

This sickening case of violence against a pregnant woman who was sexually assaulted and kept captive raises questions about police enforcement and their prompt actions in safeguarding every citizen in their jurisdiction and prompting action after five years of torture endured by the survivor.
