Teenage tennis player Chandni Srinivasan, who recently became India’s number one ranked player in the U-14 category, took to her Twitter handle to request support from the Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra. In her post, Srinivasan wrote that while didn't need an SUV, she wanted Mahindra to support her career.

Srinivasan was referring to Mahindra Group Chairman's announcement last week, gifting a Mahindra Thar SUV to each one of six debutant members of the Indian test cricket team squad after India's historic win in India-Australia test series. "I don't need SUV, but I need support to go forward in Tennis."

"Request you to provide support to me," she added. Srinivasan hails from Hyderabad and is one of the rising tennis stars in the city. The 13-year-old has achieved a major milestone in her young career when became No.1 player in the country in the U-14 category in March last year, according to the latest AITA rankings.
Starting off the game at the age of seven, Srinivasan is mentored and coached by her father. She grabbed the spotlight when she was selected to represent the Indian Under 12 team at Asian U-12 Championship in Kazakhstan in 2018. In 2019, she won six Super Series U-14 titles. This helped her reach the Top 3 rank in the country. Earlier last year, she was also selected to represent India at the World Junior Tennis Championship for Under 14 in Gold Coast, Australia. She bagged the U-14 Super Series title at the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy in January last year, and followed it up with another one at the South Club in Kolkata.
The young player wants to become a doctor and serve the needy and poor. Riding on the success, currently, besides focussing on tennis, she is also studying in Mohun’s Grammar School Malakpet.
