Pavel Durov, CEO of Telegram, was recently arrested by the French police on August 24, Saturday. In the evening at the Le Bourget airport, Durov faced charges related to the alleged spread of criminal mishap on Telegram which is a messaging app with approximately 900 million users.
Alongside him, was a 24-year-old woman identified as Juli Vavilova who is also believed to be his girlfriend, who was also detained. The rumors began with an X post featuring Juli's photo on a plane, accompanied by the caption, "The woman who accompanied Pavel Durov on his journey that led to his arrest is Juli Vavilova."
Meanwhile, all the conspiracy theorists suggested that the woman had been sharing details of her and Pavel's trip online, making it easier for the authorities to track Pavel's location. However, it's important to note that Pavel had been under surveillance by agencies for a significant period.
What is the role of Juli in this felony?
Juli Vavilova, Telegram CEO's beloved crypto coach and streamer from Dubai, boasts over 22,000 Instagram followers and fluency in English, Russian, Spanish, and Arabic. Her interests include gaming, crypto, and languages. She and Darov have frequently been photographed together in locations like Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan, as seen on her Instagram.
Their close association was highlighted when they arrived in Paris on a private jet, shortly before their arrest by French authorities and gave birth to tremendous viral rumors all over the digital platforms with allegations against Juli for trapping Darov into the arrest.
Is she a Mossad Agent?
Pavel Durov was arrested by French authorities over allegations related to illegal activities on the platform, including money laundering and drug trafficking. Speculations suggest that Vavilova may have intentionally or inadvertently led authorities to Durov's location, with conspiracy theories even labeling her as a Mossad agent.
However, her involvement remains unclear, and no official statements have confirmed these claims. Following Durov's arrest, Telegram stated that he "has nothing to hide and travels frequently in Europe," reported AFP.
