Naini Mamatha, a tribal student from Telangana secured 89.11 percentile in JEE exams despite any internet connection or any sort of coaching. She belongs to the Korwa community, which has been listed as Particularly Vulnerable Primitive Group (PVPG).
Naini had to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2020. But, because of the lockdown due to COVID-19, Naini Mamatha was unable to study online or seek guidance from her teachers for almost four months. Due to her poor financial background, she couldn't afford a smart phone which is a clear necessity for studying online. Irrespective of her conditions, she beat the odds by securing 89.11 percentile in JEE Mains ,2020.

Telangana Social and Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions helps in providing education to the marginalised Dalit, Bahujan and Adivasi communities. By creating a new record in the institutional's history, over 700 students from the Telangana Social and Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions, which is aided by the state passed with flying colours in JEE Mains examination.
Naini is the first member in her family to receive education. While everyone is praising her efforts and her success she still believes she could have scored even higher. She said to News Minute, “I thought that I would get more than 90%, so I am a little disappointed.” Naini’s parents Madhunayya and Srilatha, who are originally from Gollapally village in Mancherial district. They are currently working as agricultural labourers. While expressing her gratitude towards her parents, she said,“My parents encouraged me to study. They did not have the opportunity to study. So they are very happy with my performance."

Naini gave the credit for all her success to the teachers at Tribal Welfare Junior College, which is run by the Telangana Social and Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions. She said that's where she was mentored.
