Telangana government announced its initiative to set up 'We-Hub' on the lines of T-Hub, for women entrepreneurs. Post the conclusion of the 3-day mega Global Entrepreneurship Summit, which began on November 28, Amitabh Kant, CEO of Niti Aayog was addressing a press conference. He said that the proposed hub will be funded by the Atal Innovation Mission and will focus on encouraging setting up of 'tinkering labs' at schools for girls and also to emphasize the importance of increasing the entrepreneurship in the country.
The funding of the exclusive ₹15 crore project of We-Hub will be done under the Atal Innovation Mission, whose focus is to encourage entrepreneurship in the country.

Kant also announced the setting up of a separate unit for women under Niti Aayog in order to enable a better interface. Anna Roy, Advisor to Niti Aayog would be at its head.
Backing up the representation by women entrepreneurs, KT Rama Rao, Telangana Minister for IT and Industry said that the State had already championed the setting up of three exclusive industrial parks for the women entrepreneurs. And presently they launched We-Hub, the details of which would be revealed later.
Rao also announced the State’s decision to create a ₹15 crore - fund solely for women-led startups. Under which the financial support to women would be extended, ranging from ₹25 lakhs to ₹1 crore. KT Rama Rao said, “Following representations from women entrepreneurs, already the State has encouraged setting up of three exclusive industrial parks for them. And now, we have decided to set up We-Hub, whose details would be announced soon," .
He also said that the government, in order to procure its requirements from the women entrepreneurs, will take a policy decision. This will enable the procurement of one-fourth of the requisitioned 20 per cent purchase from the SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) sector.
