Teenage Girl Thrown Off Terrace After Failed Rape Attempt In Uttar Pradesh

In a horrifying incident, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly thrown out from the terrace of a building after a failed rape attempt. The incident took place on Tuesday in Civil Lines area of Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh. The accused youth who was a resident of the Pahari Gate area under the Civil Lines police station was arrested by the police on Wednesday, reported The Tribune.

Soon after the incident, the teenage girl was rushed to the district hospital, she had multiple fractures on arrival and was referred to a trauma centre in critical condition by the doctors. Rampur Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Arun Kumar Singh said the accused, a resident of the Pahari Gate area under the Civil Lines police station, has been booked under several sections.

The accused has been booked under section 354 for assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty, section 323 punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, and section 325 punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with appropriate sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

In a similar incident that happened in Rampur, a four-year-old girl was raped by a teenager in Vilaspur Police Station area. The accused youth was reportedly a relative of the girl and lived in her neighbourhood. The police are currently investigating the case and are in search of the accused who is absconding.
