The enactment was happening at Subhash's house. On the day of the incident, children were depicting and enacting various religious characters. One of them was the 14-year-old boy who played goddess Kali. During the drama, he was supposed to kill the demon, which was being played by an 11-year-old. Unfortunately, while enacting the mock-slaying of demon, the 14-year-old injured the 11-year-old fatally as his knife struck his neck.

How a trivial issue or carelessness led to a murder

Reportedly, the teen, playing goddess Kali, was asked to carry a blunt trident. However, he couldn't find one so he took a real and sharp knife which ultimately led to the tragedy.

As soon as the incident happened, the organising family informed the police and took the injured teen to the Community Health Center. However, the doctors declared that the teen was dead.

Police action

The police first detained the 14-year-old teen for interrogation and sent the body of the deceased for post-mortem examination. Bablu Kashyap, the father of the deceased boy, filed an FIR against the accused teen. The police then booked the teen under section 304 of IPC for causing death by rash or negligent act although not amounting to homicide.
