The teen's mother (Gong Yiwang) says that she had no idea about her daughter's actions. She then was informed by the daughter's school about the situation.

When Gong checked her bank account, she realized it was left with a bank balance of only seven cents.

She later discovered that from January to May, her daughter had spent around $16,800 buying game accounts and almost $30,000 on in-game purchases, reports Insider.

"I'm in a daze; my head feels like it's going to explode." the mother said.

Interestingly, the daughter, while speaking to the local news outler, claimed to be unaware to the source of the money or of the expenses she had incurred. However, she said she knew her mother's bank account was linked to her mobile number but had no knowledge of the repercussions of her actions.

She added that she provided funds to at least 10 classmates to pay for these online games who expressed jealousy and demanded money to indulge in gaming themselves.

“If I told the teacher, I was afraid that the teacher would tell my parents and that my parents would be angry,” she later told. For keeping this a secret, she frequently deleted the transactional messages she received from the bank's end.

The mother is now trying to raise money from a number of platforms but is yet to receive the funds.
