Teachers Killed In Kashmir: After the shocking murders of Makhan Lal Bindroo and a few other civilians by terrorists this week which shook the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the residents were once again left angry and shocked after terrorists killed two teachers in the Eidgah area of Srinagar on Thursday.
After the killings on Thursday, the death toll of civilians killed over the past week reached seven. A police official said that two teachers were shot dead in Sangam Eidgah, Srinagar district around 11 am in the morning. He stated that one of the two victims was a woman. The woman was identified as Supinder Kour, a resident of the Alochi Baug area in the city, and Deepak Chand, who was a resident of Jammu. Both of them worked as teachers at the Government Boys School, Sangam.
The incident comes after Tuesday when ML Bindroo was shot while working in his shop. On the same day, two other civilians were also shot dead. One of the two was identified as Virender, a non-local street vendor that sold bhelpuri. The other was Mohammad Shafi Lone, who was shot in the Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir.
On Saturday, Majid Ahmed Gojri was shot by terrorists in Karan Nagar and later that night, another civilian, Mohammad Shafi Dar was shot and injured at his residence. He later succumbed to his injuries, he was a resident of Batamaloo.
According to the TOI report, Dilbag Singh, the Kashmir police chief said in a statement, that the targeted killing of civilians from minorities was aimed at disrupting the communal harmony in Kashmir and creating an atmosphere of fear. Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, condemned the killing of the two teachers and talked of giving a benefiting reply to the perpetrators.
