Naming babies have become a sign of uniqueness and competition to prove the status quo for many. However, this obsession of parents to name their children in the most unusual way has helped businesswoman, Taylor A Humphrey, raise her business to a whole new level.

Taylor A Humphrey is helping people in New York by picking perfect names for their newborns. She calls herself a professional baby namer and charges $1,500 from couples for picking up a name for their baby. In 2020 alone, she had picked up more than 100 baby names and earned $150,000.

Reportedly, some parents even end up giving her $10,000 to get her to pick the impeccable name for their child. Humphery told The New Yorker, "If you look at the most popular baby names, it's such a telltale sign of our cultural values and our aspirations."

She calls herself a "passionate writer and storyteller" who has "adept at branding, marketing and social media." She is a graduate of The New York University (NYU) and has formerly worked as a matchmaker, fund-raiser and event planner.

As her LinkedIn profile, she is also a reiki practitioner and has written two feature-length screenplays, and one Tv pilot that "explores religion, spirituality, science, futurism, and the nature of love."

She found her true calling in 2015 and she established her website named, "What's in a baby name." Her services vary as per the parent's expectations. It varies from a phone call and bespoke name list to a genealogical investigation, which leads to the unearthing of old family names.

She runs a popular TikTok account too where she offers free advice to parents. Like in one instance, she asked a couple to name their child Parks as they had their first kiss in a town called Parker. She also asked a young mother to change her daughter's name from Isla as it kept getting mispronounced to something with Scottish Moniker.

Reportedly, she is mostly approached by parents who are to name their third or fourth child and have run out of names. She also said that some parents come to her as they might be lazy but mostly they are anxious perfectionists.
