Taslima Nasreen Facebook Account Suspended: The Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen said in a tweet that the social media giant Facebook has allegedly suspended her account for seven days. She alleged the ban came for writing "the truth" regarding the recent violence that took place in Bangladesh after rumours spread through social media that the Quran had been desecrated at a Durga Puja pandal there. This is not the first time the writer's social media account has been suspened.
The author of books like Lajja, French Lover: A Novel and Dwikhandito tweeted saying that Facebook suspended her account "again for seven days for telling the truth." She is known for her writings on women's oppression and criticism of religion. She left Bangladesh in 1994 after receiving death threats.
Earlier today she Facebook has banned me for writing '' Islamists destroyed Bangladeshi Hindu houses & temples believing that Hindus placed Quran on Hanuman's thigh. But when it was revealed that Iqbal Hossain did that, not the Hindus, Islamists were silent, said and did nothing against Iqbal...'

This was in reference to the communal violence that took over Bangladesh because of a fake news. The accused Iqbal Hossain, who was caught in CCTV footage taking the Quran inside the pandal and leaving it with Hanuman's idol, was arrested by the Comilla Police on October 21.
After mentioning the ban, Taslima Nasreen took to Twitter to post her writing on the microblogging site. She tweeted, "Munmun recited my poem, I usually post all my Bengali writings, poems on Facebook. But because #facebook banned me for telling the truth, I am posting my Bengali poem here on Twitter. (with the link to the YouTube channel)"

This is not the first time when the writer has been banned from the social media platform. Previously in March, her account was banned for 24 hours. In 2015 too, Facebook banned her account for breaching the social media policy on hate speech.
