As per reports, 18-year-old Rohini scored 73.8 percent in JEE and secured a seat at the National Institute of Technology in Trichy. Rohini is a tribal girl living in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. Her parents too are daily wage labourers living in Chinna Ilupur Village.
Cooking, farming and studying
During an interview with ANI, Rohini is seen cooking on a clay stove while controlling the flame enough for the food in the bowl to cook. Then she works on the farm. Only then, is she seen sitting next to a pile of books while studying one of them. The video ends with Rohini showing her admit card with pride.

Rohini talks about her struggles
Rohini said in the interview, "I am a student from a tribal community who studied in a tribal government school. I appeared in the JEE exam and secured 73.8 per cent. I have secured a seat in NIT Trichy, and I opted for Chemical Engineering. The Tamil Nadu state government has come forward to pay all my fees. I thank the CM for helping me. I performed well because of my headmaster and the staff of my school.”
She further said that her schedule included doing daily wage labour while studying for JEE.
Talking about her parents and poverty, she said, "My parents are daily wage workers and even I also worked as a daily wage worker while preparing for the exam. Since I studied well I got a seat in Trichy NIT."

The video of Rohini has gone viral garnering more than three lakh views. The netizens are overwhelmed by Rohini's hard work and are showering appreciation.

A user mentioned the benefits of reservation and said, “Finally someone got real benefit of reservation. The Government should soon conduct survey and verification of people already under reservation umbrella. To kick out undeserving people and include people like this girl. This is the only way to expand reservation for limited period."
