Khushbu Sundar files nomination: Actor-turned-politician Khushbu Sundar filed her nomination from the Thousand Lights assembly constituency seat. The state of Tamil Nadu will host legislative assembly elections in the month of April this year.
Before filing her nomination, the BJP leader held a roadshow near Valluvarkotam in the state capital Chennai. Sundar's name was on the first list of candidates unveiled by BJP for the upcoming state elections.
"I thank @BJP4India from the bottom of my heart for giving me the opportunity to contest from #thousandlights in the upcoming #TamilNaduElections2021 Promise to work hard and win.
@BJP4TamilNadu @kishanreddybjp @Murugan_TNBJP @ReddySudhakar21 @blsanthosh @AmitShah @narendramodi," she tweeted on March 14 after the list was released.
In October last year, Sundar joined Bharatiya Janata Party, after ending her six-year-long association with the Congress Party. "After a long thorough thought process over a period of time, have decided to end my association with the party,” she wrote in a resignation letter to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi," she said in her statement.
