A man in Taiwan filed a divorce case against his wife for charging money to have sex and even make a conversation with him. The duo got married in 2014 and have two children. In 2017, the wife would allegedly charge for sex only once a month. However, in 2019, she started demanding money every time he wanted to have sex or even talk to her.
Withdrew first divorce lawsuit
As per the reports, the wife told his relatives that he was too fat and incompetent. Initially, he filed for divorce in 2021. But the wife opposed it and promised that she would work on the relationship. The man had even registered the property to her name as required in the divorce process.
Although he believed his wife and withdrew his lawsuit, things didn't change. His wife continued to harass him emotionally soon after and started charging $15 (approximately Rs 1,200).
When he filed for divorce once again, the wife had not spoken to him for two years. They interacted through messaging apps for important things. The couple tried marriage counselling but it didn't work.
Granted divorce on the second attempt
A court recently gave a judgment on the case. The court accepted the divorce plea of the husband and rejected the plea by the wife who opposed the divorce. The court said that the relationship was "cold and difficult to fix".
Other eyebrow-rising incidents of divorce
Recently, a woman from Agra in Uttar Pradesh demanded a divorce from her husband because he forgot to bring a pack of Kurkure for her. Having kurkure was the woman's daily night routine but when her husband forgot to bring it, a major conflict started. The marriage was already suffering due to frequent arguments and the woman's snacking habit. This one incident led to the extreme end of a bad marriage.
In another bizarre incident, a couple in Agra is seeking divorce because the wife refused to wear the sarees of her husband's choice. The couple filed a harassment complaint against each other. As per the reports, the wife wanted to wear sarees of her own choice and not the ones that her husband selected. This difference in opinion led to daily disputes between the couple.
The disputes escalated to the extent that the couple landed at the family counselling centre where the counsellors tried to find out a solution to their marital dispute. However, the counsellor's efforts went in vain as the couple was not able to resolve the issues. Ultimately, the husband and wife approached the police and said that they wanted to dissolve the marriage.
