The death of a female software developer, whose body was discovered hanging in a flat in Bhubaneswar, is shrouded in mystery. Sweta Utkal Kumari has been named as the deceased.
Sweta, who was from Bhadrak and employed by a reputable IT firm in Bhubaneswar, allegedly died by suicide. She was residing in an apartment in the Shailashree Vihar neighbourhood. Here are 10 things to know about the incident.

- Initial reports state that Sweta died by suicide on Friday night. The issue was discovered when her family members were unable to reach her on a cell phone.

- A police squad later discovered Sweta's body hanging inside the apartment room, which was ostensibly shut.
- According to sources, the police squad broke down the door to get inside.

In a similar incident, in July this year, in the Acharya Vihar neighbourhood of the state capital of Odisha, a female student was discovered dead, according to authorities. The incident occurred just three days after a female student from the elite BJB Autonomous College purportedly died by suicide on Saturday in the women's dormitory of the school.
The BJB Autonomous College student allegedly died of suffocation from hanging, according to the post-mortem report. According to authorities, the girl's viscera samples have been transferred to the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) for analysis.
According to Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh, the police had taken statements from college students, faculty members, hostel inmates, and other people. The three older students who were accused of helping her take her own life would likely be identified, according to the DCP.

The girl's parents had participated in a dharna in front of the BJB Autonomous College and sought a CBI investigation into the tragedy because they believed the college administration was concealing information regarding their daughter's death.
