We always talk about the need to remove the stigma around sexual conversations and raise awareness regarding sex education. People are shamed for talking about it openly and consider it a bad influence on children and youth. However, Sweden is reportedly in talks to convert sex into a sport, but is it true?
Sweden has taken a step towards reforming the notion of sex and sexual activities in the country. The Scandinavian nation is reportedly looking to declare sex as a sport.
You might have heard about the notion that sexual activities burn calories like other physical activities and have an impact on mental well-being as well. Reportedly, the president of the Swedish Federation of Sex, Dragan Bratic reportedly said that the physical and mental health impact of sex is the idea behind the sport.
However, a deeper dive revealed that while Bratic and the Swedish Federation of Sex do exist, they failed to get sex classified as a sport. Goteborgs-Posten, a Swedish newspaper, reported on April 26, 2023, that the federation's application to become a member of the National Sports Confederation was denied.
As per the report, Dragan Bractic, the man behind the Swedish Federation of Sex runs several strip clubs and hopes to classify sex as a sport. However, the National Sports Confederation's rejection of the application has put a hurdle on its part.
Most of the reports claiming that Sweden has classified sex as a sport and that a sex championship will be held soon have cited Tweets as sources. With no international reports or reports from Sweden confirming the sex championships, it seems that the reports are inaccurate.
Recently, the spokesperson for the Swedish Sports Confederation Anna Setzman said in a statement confirmed that the reports were false.

Sweden Sex Championship
If the Swedish sex tournament is real, it will reportedly commence from June 8 and go on for several weeks where participants will compete for 6 hours on a daily basis. A set of rules have been drawn up for the fake tournament.
The activities or matches are supposed to have a duration of 45 minutes to 1 hour and the championship is accepting applications from participants all around the world. Reportedly, 20 people have registered for the championship.
The tournament will have 16 disciplines including oral sex, seduction, body massages, creativity in the positions, penetration, number of orgasms, appearance, position changes, exploring erotic zones and endurance and their performance in each discipline can help them score 5 to 10 points. The participants will be judged by three juries and ratings from the audience.
Another interesting thing about this tournament is that there is no restriction on the gender and sexual orientation of the participants, a step that was taken to make the tournament diverse and inclusive. In fact, the organisers claimed that sexual orientation can play an important strategic role in the tournament and will be an important step towards the treatment of sexual orientation in sports in European countries.
