Veere Di Wedding is making waves at the box office, being the latest feel-good film for women. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania showcase the real life experiences of a girl gang.
Amidst the film’s success, Swara Bhasker has once again found herself facing online trolls who are criticising the actress for her masturbation scene in the film. They claimed that while watching the movie with their grandmothers, they "got embarrassed".
Social media is abuzz with posts about that particular scene. Interestingly, identical tweets was posted by multiple Twitter users again and again -- which led Swara to hit back at them. She tweeted: "Looks like a certain IT cell sponsored the tickets - or definitely the tweets."
The same tweet goes like: “Hey @ReallySwara just watched #VeerDiWedding with my grandmother. We got embarrassed when the masturabation scene came on screen. as we came out of the theatre my grandmother said “I’m Hindustan and I am ashamed of #VeerDiWedding.”
Swara slayed with her reply:
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Looks like a certain IT cell sponsored the tickets- or definitely the tweets !!!! 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️😆😆😆😆 https://t.co/KIUqMoOLRG

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 @Joydas you bring so much joy to my Twitter timeline.. I wish paid trolls would at the very least re-arrange the sentences and run a spell check before their paid tweet attacks #PaidTrollsKiPolKhulGayi #SakshiSlays https://t.co/pxHyjKthXH

Posting the same comment from different users is lame, trollers! Have some dignity, at least.
Swara added: "I wish paid trolls would at the very least re-arrange the sentences and run a spell check before their paid tweet attacks #PaidTrollsKiPolKhulGayi."
And, this makes sense:
Why are so many sanskari people watching #VeereDiWedding with their grandmothers?

While some absurd comments poured in, the Internet also has supporters who defended Swara:
For some weird reasons, people who cant spell “Masturbation” are going to watch #VeereDiWedding with their Grandmothers and want answers from @ReallySwara pic.twitter.com/CAB1ab5b4O

These paid trolls got the spelling of ‘masturbation’ wrong.
For some inexplicable reason, there seems to be a tremendous demand for Veere Di Wedding among Indian grandmothers, regardless of their alleged, consistent (word-to-word consistent!) opinion after the film. pic.twitter.com/VCn1wroHlf

Others trolled them back with a fitting reply:
Wow. The entire RW-bhakt gang is dating their Grandma this weekend? https://t.co/VA4kQU8NZP

Shefali Vaidya had said all like minded people should boycott #VeereDiWedding. Pakistan banned it

The film kicked the door of this male-centric industry like a boss, continuing to receive mixed reactions. Some have criticized the film as women openly discussing sex, cussing and even a masturbation scene that has become the talk on the Internet. However, this is not the first time Swara is being trolled on social media. She is known to speak openly, voicing opinion so when spoken her mind on writing an open letter to filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Padmaavat, she was trolled badly that time too.
