Swapna Suresh Names Pinarayi Vijayan: Swapna Suresh, the kingpin in the Kerala gold smuggling case has now named Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan alleging involvement.
Suresh reportedly named three other cabinet ministers and Kerala Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan during her interrogation. “Swapna Suresh was the mediator in the talks between the Chief Minister and the Consulate General as the CM does not understand or speak Arabic." Swapna’s reportedly said that the CM and ministers got crores as commission in the deal.

Suresh also reported that Vijayan's close connection with the previous consul general of UAE and about all the illegal money transactions. Sumit Kumar, the Commissioner of Customs stated that Swapna Suresh was well aware of the all the illegal transactions as she understands the Arabic language. She also confessed to the involvement of former Principal Secretary M Sivasanakar who allegedly acted as a link between Kerala's politicians and the UAE Consulate officials. He participated in various illegal activities which were under the guise of government projects. The statement was submitted to the Kerala High Court.
The statement of the case was filed in response to the state government's petition. The petition tried to challenge the order issued by the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (Economic Offences) Court for providing protection to Suresh. She is currently residing in the women's Prison and Correctional Home, Attakulangara, Thiruvananthapuram.
Ramesh Chennithala, the leader of Opposition at the Kerala stated that all the allegations made in the dollar and gold smuggling case by the Congress has come true. He also alleged that the BJP and the LDF were totally involved in it.
A few months ago, Swapna Suresh was granted bail in the gold smuggling case, but was held in prison for another.
