Actress Kangana Ranaut is again in news for her statements on Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. As AIIMS ruled out the possibility of murder and claimed the actor’s death as suicide, Ranaut reinstated her stance that Bollywood ‘mafia’ had a role to play in deteriorating Rajput’s mental health. She took to Twitter and said, “Young and extraordinary individuals don’t just wake up one fine day and kill themselves.” She further said that Rajput was being bullied, outcasted and harassed by production houses that even became a threat to his life. She also added, “he was mentally affected by being falsely accused of rape.”
Ranaut, who has been outspoken throughout the investigation in Rajput’s death case demanding justice, raised three questions to explore the possibility of Bollywood’s producers being a reason for his suicide. The first, “SSR repeatedly spoke about big production houses banning him. Who are these people who conspired against him?” She raised the next question on the media for spreading the fake news that Rajput was a rapist. And lastly she asked about the role of Mahesh Bhatt. She asks, “Why was Mahesh Bhatt doing his psychoanalysis?”

Adding further, she claimed in the next tweet, "His family complained to cops about the threat to his life way before he died, he wanted to live but quit films, he wanted to settle in Coorg but who blackmailed him? Who cornered him in a way that dying was easier than living? Morally and legally abetment of suicide is a murder."
Soni Razdan, British actress, director and mother of Alia Bhatt has reacted to Ranaut's tweet. Taking a dig at Ranaut’s claims, Razdan For those saying that ‘people don’t suddenly wake up one morning and kill themselves’ ... No they don’t. And that is the whole point. They suffer for many years and struggle long and hard before sometimes sadly just needing to opt for an out.

She also pointed out the importance of speaking up and destigmatising mental health issues. “Let’s not demonise mental health. Let’s please understand how important it is to address it as an illness.”
As reported, a group of six forensic doctors at AIIMS declared in a medico-legal opinion that the death is “a case of hanging and death by suicide". The conclusive report that they handed over to CBI ruled out the possibility of “poisoning and strangling”. The report also claimed that there were no marks of injury on Rajput’s body, except those incurred by hanging. Picture Credit: IANS
