Another day, another report of a horrifying rape. Not a single day goes by without reading at least one news story about violence against women in India. And with every crime, perpetrators seem to be getting increasingly barbaric. What kind of future are we heading towards? When is society ever going to be a safe space for women?
A Surat-based man has been charged with raping and physically assaulting a woman with whom he was having an affair. The accused, identified as Nikunj Kumar Amrit Bhai Patel, had raped the woman and stuffed chilli powder into her private parts. The woman is now undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Surat Man Rapes And Assaults Woman
The accused was married, and his wife was living separately in another village. He hid the fact that he was married and engaged in a relationship with the woman until she discovered the truth.
When she confronted him about his marital status and decided to break off their relationship, the accused got angry and assaulted her. He reportedly beat her with a cable wire, raped her, and stuffed chilli powder into her private parts. He then threatened that he would leak her private photos on social media.
The woman suffered serious injuries as a result of the assault and has been admitted to a hospital. The issue was then reported to the Olpad police station. The police took the accused Patel into custody and registered an FIR against him under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code.
UP Police Brothers Gangrape Woman
Earlier this month, a 26-year-old woman claimed that a police constable in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit, his elder brother, and another police officer in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli gang-raped her for years. The brothers Imran Mirza and Furqan had also allegedly forced her to abort not once but twice.
The woman had met Imran Mirza and fallen in love with him in 2021. They had gotten into a physical relationship after Imran Mirza promised to marry her. The three men had been raping her over a period of two years and kept her silent by threatening to kill her. Finally, after being brutally assaulted by them repeatedly, she filed a complaint with the Superintendent of Police in Pilibhit. The police said that Imran Mirza was on leave and was supposed to rejoin but hasn't turned up yet. The case is currently under investigation.
