A Surat-based textile businessman has launched a ‘Manikarnika’ styled saree to extend his support to actress Kangana Ranaut in the recent BMC-Shiv Sena controversy.
Rajat Dawar, who owns a shop in the textile market of Surat has come up with this Kangana Ranaut saree which has a portrait of the actor printed on it. He said that what happened with the actress is something that cannot be accepted, further adding, "She wanted to raise her voice to support something but her voice was suppressed and her office was demolished. So we wanted to support her," reported ANI.

'I Support Kangana Ranaut'
The slogan ‘I support Kangana’ is printed on the saree that was launched last week. Within a short span of time, the manufacturers have received multiple orders for it, reported ANI. The price range of this Manikarnika saree is between Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000, depending upon the quality and fabric of the saree.

When asked about permission to imprint Kangana’s portrait on the saree, he said, “We have not made this saree to promote our brand in any way, but only with the motive to support her in her fight.”

On September 7, Kangana revealed on social media that officials of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) came unannounced at her office in Mumbai, threatening to demolish the entire structure. The officials, she alleges, said, “Wo jo madam hain, uski kartoot ka parinam sabko bharna hoga. The actor wrote in her tweet, "They have forcefully taken over my office measuring everything, also harassing my neighbors..." You can read more from here
On September 9, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC ) demolished parts of Ranaut's office citing "structural violations". The Queen actor alleged that she is being targeted by the Maharashtra government because of her ongoing face-off with the Shiv Sena. “I am never wrong and my enemies prove again and again this is why my Mumbai is POK now #deathofdemocracy,” the actress wrote in a series of tweets. After Ranaut moved to the Bombay High Court with a plea against the demolition work being carried out on her property by BMC, it was stayed by the court.

The Manikarnika actress was involved in a war of words with Shiv Sena MP (Member of Parliament) Sanjay Raut after her remarks that she feels unsafe in Mumbai and compared it to Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
Then Shiv Sena IT cell filed a complaint against Kangana Ranaut, seeking FIR under ‘charges of sedition’. Apart from Raut, Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik also targeted Kangana Ranaut for her PoK-Mumbai comment. However, no FIR has been registered against the actress as of yet.
