Reports of child abuse refuse to cease. In a new case, reports of a sub-inspector from Rampur police trying to rape a minor have surfaced. What is horrifying is that he was drunk on duty and allegedely committed the crime inside the police station, TOI reported.
Residents of Bhewraka village in Rampur caught SI Tejveer Singh, posted under Kameri police station in a highly intoxicated state. When found, he did not have any clothes on Saturday night.
Report says that Singh dragged the six-year-old at the outpost and allegedly tried to rape her. But since the village residents caught him red-handed, they complained against him to the magistrate. On Sunday, he was produced in the court of judicial magistrate. And eventually the court sent him to 14-day judicial custody.
