Global investors and startup owners, Indian women entrepreneurs, social, tech and manufacturing founders will all come under one roof to discuss the mega start-up story in India and ways to make this a more robust ecosystem.

‘Start-up India Stand Up India’, a new initiative that Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about will be the government’s New Year gift to India's young entrepreneurs. The government will formally launch the initiative on January 16 in an event that will also see the participation of all major higher educational institutions through an online connect. IITs, IIMs, central universities, NITs and other institutions are among the many that be connected live to the launch event.

The Start-up initiative, as envisaged by the Prime Minister, involves bank loans for entrepreneurs. Each of the nation's 1.25 lakh bank branches should encourage at least one Dalit or tribal entrepreneur and at least one woman entrepreneur, he had announced from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
