Stars Hail Nikhat Zareen, Lovlina Borgohain's Golden Win At World Boxing Championships

By winning gold at the Women's World Boxing Championships Final on Sunday, Nikhat Zareen and Lovlina Borgohain made everyone proud. While Lovlina Borgohain won the gold medal in the 75 kg division, Nikhat Zareen won the gold in the 50 kg category. People from all throughout the nation praised Zareen and Borgohain for their accomplishments.

At the IBA Women's World Boxing Championship in New Delhi on March 26, Lovlina Borgohain gave India its fourth gold medal. Nikhat Zareen, on the other hand, won the gold by outlasting the Vietnamese Nguyen Thi Tam, a two-time Asian champion, 5-0. With her title victory, she also overtook the legendary MC Mary Kom to become the only other Indian female boxer with two or more World Championship golds.

Nationwide appreciation for Nikhat and Lovlina's achievements came from individuals with different backgrounds. Indian celebs also praised them profusely and sent them words of congratulations on social media as they celebrated their victory.

Zareen and Borgohain received praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well. He tweeted, "Congratulations to @nikhat_zareen for her spectacular victory at the World Boxing Championships and winning a Gold. She is an outstanding champion whose success has made India proud on many occasions." For Borgohain, he wrote, "Congratulations @LovlinaBorgohaifor her stupendous feat at the Boxing World Championships. She showed great skill. India is delighted by her winning the Gold medal."

Abhishek Bachchan, an actor who is also a sports enthusiast and entrepreneur, offered his congratulations to Nikhat and Lovlina. Taking to Instagram Stories, he wrote, “Congratulations Nikhat Zareen and Lovlina Borgohain on your gold medal wins at the Women’s World Boxing Championship 2023. Your dedication and hardwork has paid off, we could not be more proud.”

Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut shared two Instagram Stories images honoring Lovelina and Nikhat for winning in their respective categories. The actor noted: "Navratri mein women are on fire" in the final slide. Actor-director Farhan Akhtar also sent congratulations to the boxing champs at the same time. Sharing photographs and videos from the competition, he wrote, "Well done Nikhat Zareen. You make us all proud" and for Lovlina, he wrote, "What an outstanding victory..!"
