Khushi Kapoor, daughter of producer Boney Kapoor and late actor Sridevi, will soon be venturing into Bollywood as an actor, confirmed her father. Boney Kapoor has said in a recent interview that Khushi wants to follow her mother and elder sister, Janhvi Kapoor's footsteps and fans can expect to "hear an announcement soon". Her elder sister made her debut in Bollywood with the 2018 film Dhadak along with Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter.

Boney Kapoor, however, said that he has no intension of launching his younger daughter as "one tends to get indulgent". The Mr. India producer told Bombay Times, “I have the resources, but I would rather have someone else launch her because I am her father." He further confessed that as a filmmaker he doesn't feel right about launching his own daughter this way and "nor is it good for the actor." He claimed he doesn't want to use his resources.
He also hinted that Kapoor is being launched by another noted filmmaker and that as a proud father all he wants for her is to "find her own footing." Without revealing much, the producer said that Kapoor will be launched by someone he respects and "someone I feel secure and safe about."

Khushi Kapoor, who had moved abroad to pursue an acting course at New York Film Academy in 2019, had earlier revealed that she wanted to be an actor. "People tell me when I'm going to debut, so it's fun to hear about it. I mean, I'm still in school so obviously, it's something that I have thought of but it's not something that is happening right now," the starkid had told Neha Dhupia in a chat show. Her older sister had earlier told Anaita Shroff Adjania in a conversation that Kapoor has plans to venture into acting but "she will figure what she wants to do.”
