Actor Sonam Kapoor Ahuja's New Delhi Home was robbed in February and police are currently investigating the theft. Cash and jewellery worth 1.14 crores are reported to be missing from the residence.
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja's New Delhi home is located at Amrita Shergill Marg. Anand Ahuja's parents Harish Ahuja and Priya Ahuja, along with grandmother Sarla Ahuja (86) live in the Delhi Residence. Reports have surfaced that thieves have broken into the house and stolen cash and jewellery worth 1.41 crores from the almirah.
The actor was recently in the news for announcing her pregnancy and is currently in Mumbai, at her father Anil Kapoor's residence. Her husband Anand Ahuja is currently in London. The theft had reportedly taken place on February 11, when Sarla Ahuja checked the cupboard for jewelry and cash and found that they were missing. A complaint was then lodged on February 23, 2022, with the Tughlaq Road Police Station.

In her complaint, Sarla Ahuja claimed that she got to know of the theft on February 11 when she checked her cupboards for jewellery and cash. Owing to the sensitivity of the matter, Tughlaq Road Police Station registered the case and started the investigation under wraps. Due to the high-profile manner of this case, officials have formed teams to speed up the investigation.
Police are to question everyone that lives in the residence along with Anand's parents and grandmother. That includes 25 servants, nine caretakers, drivers, gardeners, and other employees who work in the house. The team of officials working on this case includes a team from the Crime Branch, and the team of FSL working to gather evidence. Reports claim that the accused has not been traced till now. Since the case was kept under wraps, it has only today surfaced on the news.
According to Sarla Ahuja's statement, jewellery worth Rs 1.40 crore and cash of Rs one lakh were stolen from the cupboard of their room. Since the Almirah was last checked around two years ago, Police have taken one year's worth of CCTV footage under scrutiny, to find any clues or suspicious activity in the house. The police are reportedly considering taking the help of forensic science, as no clues have surfaced yet. The investigation in the case began on February 23, right after the complaint was lodged.
